Top Two

Alright, so Jeff and I have limited to a top two list!

Hurrah! *still jumping in excitement*

The options are:
-the Chateau Cartier on June 16th, 2007
pro's include an excellent rain plan, a beautiful place, and a dancefloor wherever we like (read central), free parking...! But it's mid June (maybe a bit early if I have a teaching job)

- the Villa Lucia on July 7th, 2007
pro's include having a larger reception area with nice decor (on walls etc.), the date we wanted, proximity to Andrew Haydn Park (nice place for wedding and wedding pics), free parking ...!

Alright, so that's pretty much it for now, a huge update in my eyes, but we'll see. Now to figure out an exact wedding party.

Cheers,
Nora

Congratulations, guys!

So did you have a put a deposit down on them or is there a way for them to reserve both for you while you decide?

You didn't list any cons for Villa Lucia...is there something about the place that you dislike that's making you uncertain of which one to go for?

Thanks Jumoke!

Actually no we didn't put any deposits yet. I think Villa Lucia wants $500, and Chateau Cartier wants a $1000 deposit. So we have to decide first- 'cause we can't afford to lose any non-refundable deposits.

Oh pretty much the downfall of Villa Lucia is that we would still need to find a place for the ceremony (we want it outdoors). At Chateau Cartier they have a place for the ceremony.

Hey Nora,

I think that you should go for the Chateau Cartier. When I talked with you, it seemed like you were somewhat leaning towards that one and then you don't have all of the hassles and inconveniences of looking after the tent at Andrew Haydon, space and chairs.
I think overall it might end up being cheaper.
I also think that we can work with the reception hall time and see about setting up at the Chateau Cartier earlier or on another day.. ie coming in on the Friday, esp if you are now dealing with a somewhat nicer person.

That's just my tip and thank you for writing all the blogs so that I can stop stressing out about exams(for about 2 mins) and read something nice about how things are going. Anyways hopefully i'll get to talk to you sometime this week. Lots of good updates :)

Have a good one!
